Wildlife Spotting
Collect
a ticklist and have fun during your stay ticking off the wildlife you
see including Red Squirrels, Hedgehogs, Butterflies and
Dragonflies, Toads and Frogs, Lizards and Salamanders,
Woodpeckers, Jays and Greenfinches, Bats, Owls and Glow worms for the
later nights, and the more elusive but very special Hummingbird
Hawkmoths and the much loved Deer.

The Pool
Of
course, on those hot days the kids love to spend loads of time in
the pool. We provide a number of inflatables each year for
messing around in the water on. Kids that start off not too
confident in the water will find themselves having great fun within a
few days, and for the really little people we provide a
moveable paddling pool for cooling off.

The extensive grounds at La Coterie cover 8 acres
of field and forest which guests are free to explore at their leisure,
being careful of the resident lawn mowers (horses) which are moved from
field to field over the spring and summer.
There is a wide
range of plants and flowers throughout the seasons, such as bluebells
and other wild flowers in Spring, and blackberries and mushrooms in the
Autumn.

Bird
life is abundant in and around the woodland. Highlights are the
woodpeckers in the morning, buzzards during the day, bats flitting
about at sunset, and the owls at night.
